This past week had the pleasure of taking part in a special
happy hour event hosted by Alive
Magazine with other fellow fabulous local bloggers. However, this was no ordinary
happy hour. At this happy hour, which was held at Enamel Studio, we the guests were invited to create our very own
signature summer cocktails using Cruzan
Coconut and Cruzan Blueberry
Lemonade Rum, and then got to style our cocktails to our liking! How cool
is that?! This Cocktail Styling Party was in anticipation of the upcoming We Heart STL event, being held on
Friday May 29th at the Old Post Office Plaza in Downtown St. Louis (enter
at 9th Street and Locust Street) from 7pm to 11pm.
So what was my cocktail you ask? I call it the Summer
Crush Cooler! I added ¼ cup Cruzan Coconut Rum, ¼ cup Cruzan Blueberry
Lemonade Rum, and ½ cup pineapple juice. I then added fresh mint leaves and blueberries
for even more fresh flavor, and a lemon slice and pineapple chunk for garnish.
Needless to say, it was DELICIOUS! I call it the perfect cocktail to get you
and your friends ready for Summer Fun, Summer Love, and Summer Excitement!

Magazine. In that Alive is known for giving its readers the inside track on
all things happening and worth note in St. Louis, it is hosting a party to
celebrate all of the best of the best that St. Louis has to offer! The We Heart STL event will feature sampling
in the Bud Select Tasting Lounge, Cruzan
Rum cocktails, shopping from 10 local vendors, one-of-a-kind photo booth,
dancing to live music from The Free Years, DJ European Soccer and more! All of the winners are featured in the June issue of Alive Magazine. So be sure to pick up a copy!

Hmmmm....it appears that my last comment didn't actually publish. I'll try again. My hidden gem is I Scream Cakes down on Cherokee. Their ice cream flavors are super unique and some even have booze. Then head across the street to the mexican bakery for some fresh churros to go with your ice cream. Perfection. I haven't heard much buzz about this place, even with Cherokee seeming to come alive again.
